Thomas Troubridge (banker)

Thomas Troubridge (b. 26 December 1939 London), an English banker descended from the Troubridge baronets, is best known for his first marriage on 15 September 1971 to Baroness Marie-Christine Agnes Hedwig Ida von Reibnitz, now Princess Michael of Kent. The couple separated in 1973, and divorced in 1977.

Their marriage, which produced no children, was annulled by the Catholic Church in May 1978. Marie-Christine went on to marry Prince Michael of Kent.

Troubridge has apparently remarried, but has no issue.

Troubridge's ancestry

Troubridge is a descendant of Sir Thomas Troubridge the 1st Baronet, and the third and youngest son of Admiral Sir Thomas Hope Troubridge (d. 1949).[1] The present baronet, Sir Thomas Troubridge, 7th Baronet, is his nephew.[2]

Troubridge is claimed by some sites to be the son of Sir Peter Troubridge, 6th Baronet (actually his oldest brother), but other sites produced by genealogists show him as the third son of Admiral Sir Thomas Hope Troubridge and his wife Lily Kleinwort.

Troubridge has two elder brothers (both deceased) and one younger sister.

Ernest Troubridge was the younger son of Colonel Sir Thomas St. Vincent Hope Cochrane Troubridge, 3rd Bt (1815-1867) by his wife Louisa Jane Gurney (d. 1867). Troubridge is thus a great-grandson of the third baronet.
